Platon Xtra internal walls

Moisture protection provides a better indoor climate

Upgrading basements

System Platon used on the inside of a wall protects the internal cladding from moisture in the outer basement wall and moisture is equalised in the air gap. Generally the thickness of the insulation should be limited to 50 mm. It is not advisable to have a vapour barrier between the insulation and the cladding, although the cladding should be airtight.

The surface should be cleaned. Platon sheets are laid directly on the wall and are attached using Platon nails with plug.
The air gap communicates with the room at both the upper and lower edges.

Even if System Platon is used on the inside of the basement wall, you may still need to improve the drainage. You should be aware that too much thermal insulation should not be used on the inside of the wall. For further details please download the laying instructions or contact our technical customer services department.

If you..

• have a damp basement wall
• have moisture problems, not running water
• do not wish to risk damage caused by mould from occurring in a new wall
• just wish to renovate one room and not the whole basement

... then using System Platon on the inside of your basement wall is the solution for you!
