Platon Xtra for turf roofs
Birch bark has been used traditionally as an underlay for turf. However, it is difficult to obtain birch bark and there are not many people around today who have mastered this time-consuming laying technique. For over 40 years System Platon has not just replaced birch bark, but it has also simplified the laying process and has improved the performance and life of turf roofs today.

A turf roof that leaks means a lot of extra work and having to relay a roof is no joke. If you choose the right products and pay some thought to the laying process you will acquire a roof that requires minimum maintenance and almost unlimited durability.
Two-stage sealing
The first layer, Isola Isokraft, is 100% waterproof.
The second layer, Platon Xtra, also provides protection against moisture, drainage down to the eaves and extra protection for the grass and its roots. Platon Xtra has been granted Technical Approval by SINTEF Byggforsk, No. 2265.
Stud functions
Platon Xtra should be laid with the studs facing down towards the underlay, creating a continuous air gap between the roof covering and the Platon sheet. |
