Robust and secure

Platon P20 Drensplate represents a continuation of the principles that have contributed towards Platon’s leading position in the industry. This product consists of an extra strong, robust sheet with large, 20 mm high studs that provide excellent protection and exceptionally high drainage/ventilation capacity. Platon P20 thus effectively and securely resolves major problems associated with moisture such as the loads imposed by ground water.

For demanding conditions

Platon P20 can be used on both indoor and outdoor vertical and horizontal surfaces, e.g. concrete structures built in connection with deep foundations, floors laid below the water table, tunnel arches/roofs and car parks below ground level, etc. Platon P20 can be adapted for use both as an open self-drainage system or as a closed, sealed system where water is removed by using drainage pumps.

Eminently suitable for rehabilitation

Platon P20 creates new opportunities for situations where damage has already occurred, where existing drainage has failed and where water penetration and damage have been established. By rehabilitating a structure Platon P20 can help to establish a new efficient drainage layer to provide permanent, self-regulating moisture protection. Laying

Platon P20 Drensplate is laid or attached with the studs facing the underlying construction. If it is not necessary to seal the joints between the sheets, they can be laid with an overlap consisting of one row of studs. If sealing is required, the sheets should be laid with an overlap consisting of two rows of studs, and sealed together using Platon Fugebånd (joint sealing strips). These strips should be placed on the flat area between the two rows of studs and they should be stuck down right into the corners in order to prevent escape routes for leaks.

Product specifications

Platon P20 is made of black High Density Polyethylene (PEH). It is diffusion-proof, water repellent and resistant to most ordinary building chemicals. One side of the sheet contains studs laid in a regular pattern. These studs have a reciprocal distance of approx. 60 mm. This product is supplied in sheets measuring 2,230 x 1,360 mm.

Handling

The sheets are tough, but soft, and can be bent over corners and projections without breaking, even at very low temperatures. The sheets can easily be cut with a knife or a pair of scissors.

Storage

The sheets should be stored flat when stored for any length of time.
