Platon P5+
As an alternative to blinding layer, Platon P5+ replaces lean mix concrete as a base for reinforcement and separates the structural concrete from the fill material below.
Platon P5+ is manufactured from polypropylene (PP), and formed with 5 mm high studs on one face of the sheet. On the back face of the sheet, the studs form a square pattern of ridges. A width of 70 mm along both edges of the roll is stud free, enabling simple overlapping of the product.
P5+ is laid directly with the studs downwards on a levelled and compacted base of gravel or other appropriate fill material. With studs downwards and ridges facing upwards, Platon P5+ provides a stable and firm support for spacers and reinforcement to a structural concrete floor construction.
As a capillary breaking layer, Platon P5+ improves the damp proofing of the construction.
