Isola Flexitett (flexi-seal)

Areas of application

Isola Flexitett is a mat with rubber-like properties (coreless elastomer bitumen) that is used for protecting awkward details from water intrusion. Hot air or a gas flame is used to shape a matching piece of Isola Flexitett into a tight collar that is attached to the detail. Isola Flexitett can be used for many building purposes on both sloping and flat roofs, e.g. protecting transitions between sub-roofs and feedhroughs and for membranes and roof coverings.

The upper and lower sides have been coated with thin plastic film. The thickness of the product is 5 mm. It is supplied in 20 x 20 cm squares and in rolls measuring 1 x 5 m. Weight 5 kg/m2. Extensibility: 25 times its own length, 100% elastic recovery. Mouldable plastic properties when heated.

Execution, use

Pipes. Cut a suitable length of Flexitett. Make a small opening in the middle and heat carefully. Form a collar and pull down over the pipe.

Inside corners, roofing, membranes: use a 20 x 20 cm square of Flexitett. Heat carefully, weld and press the square into the corner. Cut and fold to fit the roof covering or membrane as shown and weld.
External corners, roofing, membranes: use a 20 x 20 cm square of Flexitett. Heat carefully, shape and weld the square over the corner. Cut and fold to fit the roof covering or membrane as shown and weld.
