Isola Primer

Areas of application

Isola Primer is used for pre-treating concrete surfaces before laying welded, bitumen-based roof coverings or membranes. The aim is to bind dust on the concrete surface in order to achieve a strong, permanent bond. This relates to the properties of the concrete and has nothing to do with the type of coating or membrane used.

Isola Primer consists of distilled bitumen, solvent and an adhesive.

Execution, use

The surface should be clean and dry. Apply with a brush, roll, stiff brush or sprayer. Spread evenly. Aim to use 0.2 – 0.4 l/m2, depending on the surface. The primer should be allowed to dry until it is no longer sticky before welding on the covering layer. Under normal ventilation conditions the drying time should be 3-4 hours at 200oC. Tools should be cleaned using an oil remover or White Spirit. Thin using White Spirit.
