Isola Svillemembran (sill membrane)

Areas of application

Isola Svillemembran replaces traditional log wadding, foundation wall felt and beam membranes as a sealing layer inserted between foundation walls and timberwork on the top of external foundation walls. Beam membrane that is stuck directly onto the top of a foundation wall has a pressure equalising effect, repels moisture from the soil and ensures a secure windproof transition between the foundation wall and wall. The wind barrier flaps allow a high level of diffusion and ensure that wooden materials can dry out.

Type – measurements – weight

Isola Svillemembran consists of a fibre membrane in the form of spun polyethylene fibre felt that has been coated with a self-adhesive bitumen strip. This membrane is available in three widths: 14.5 cm and 20 cm, as well as 25 cm on demand.
They all have a 15.5 to 20 cm fold-up designed to form a wind barrier. Isola Svillemembran has a pressure equalising effect, repels moisture from the soil and allows water vapour diffusion to take place in the transition between the foundation wall and the wall.

Technical data:

Water vapour penetration: 15 x 10-3 g/m2 hPa
Water-tightness: waterproof at 1 kPa
Air penetration: 0.001 m3/m2hPa
Tensile strength: 134 N/50 mm
Nail strength: 44 N
Roll measurements: 17 linear metres

Isola Svillemembran has been granted Technical Approval by SINTEF Byggforsk (No. 2044).
